Philosophy

Unlocking the potential of a person begins with understanding that person's subjective reality. How do they feel? What do they think? What is their experience?

We all have perceptions and misperceptions about ourselves that are formed by experiences, and the real and imagined expectations around us. When I meet with an individual, understanding their experiences helps me to see the interference that gets in the way of success. Often, clients have experienced a compilation of negative experiences and feedback that has created a barrier between what they can do, who they can be, and how a person sees their potential. It is important to identify and focus on strengths, explore possibilities, and build on strengths and successes. In doing so, a person’s day-to-day experiences shifts from failures and feedback about failures or inadequacies, to an understanding of possibilities and a person’s potential and capacity. My goal is to help each person move from hopelessness to hope, from hope to action, and from action to growth.
